Vibrant Temescal Neighborhood
There is a real sense of community here and it is a hip haven. Fondly refered to by locals as The New Ghormet Ghetto, in tribute to Berkeley’s now well established Ghormet Ghetto (that features resturants such as Alice Water’s Che Pannis).
Temescall’s special events include First Friday Art Hop, and Organic Farmers Market every Sunday. Temescal Alley Barbershop where waiting for your turn may include shots of tequila to make the time pass more easily! Doughnut Dolly where doghnuts are taken to a whole new level.
Don’t miss the 10th Temescal Street Fair on July 7th from Noon to 6pm – lots of fun for the kids, great food for the foodies, and art for the whole family.
Next, Temescal Street Cinema Thursday July 11th at 8:40pm – INFORMANT. This is a free event on 49th @ Telegraph – limited seating and free popcorn.
Property values are climbing but still a bargain compared to its Rockridge neighbor and here is a report on the 2nd Quarter of this year.
